Glock Parts Articles - Safety Rules

Safety is the first priority of Glock. When the company produces its pistols and designs new models of weaponry, it tests the materials and new designs before ever putting the products on the market. Glock knows the importance of maintaining quality and safe handguns for its customers. Since many of Glock’s customers may be using the products in extreme circumstances, the company has developed a few safety guidelines for its customers to keep in mind while using the guns. The company encourages its customers to review the basic safety guidelines they provide with their products in order to stay safe and to keep their families and co-workers safe as well.Glock Parts - Safety Rules

The first safety rule the company stands by is to always treat the gun as if it were loaded. Glock feels this is the first and most important rule because guns can be dangerous and although a gun may seem to not be loaded, there is always a possibility that it could be. By treating every gun as if it were loaded, the customer is taking the proper precautions in gun handling to keep by-passers and themselves safe.

Glock also reminds it customers to always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Since the firearm may or may not be loaded, it’s always a good idea to never point it at anyone or anything that could be damaged. By following this rule, Glock customers will keep themselves and the people around them free from harm.

Glock customers are also encouraged to keep their fingers away from the trigger guard and off the trigger until they are truly ready to fire. While Glock has provided an outstanding safety on the guns they produce, it is still good for the user to keep their fingers away from the trigger until ready to fire. Once the gun is pointed at a safe target, the customer can then put their finger on the trigger guard.

It is the customer’s responsibility to be sure the target area or firing range is safe from individuals, animals or materials that should not get damaged. When firing Glock guns at a firing range, the customer should keep lines of communication open with the shooters around him or her in order to ensure the safety of all the attendants of the range.

When a customer first receives their new Glock product, they should first open the action to see if the firearm is loaded or not. If the customer is planning on storing the gun, they should remove any cartridges from the gun and store it unloaded. The customer should also read the Glock instruction manual. The new gun owner should know the gun, its safety features and how it works before using it. When the Glock gun arrives, the customer should also re-test the gun to be sure it works properly. Glock thoroughly tests their products before being shipped out but the customer may want to double-check that nothing has happened during the transportation. When storing the firearm in the Glock storage case, the gun owner should be sure the gun is unloaded and is locked up safely, away from the hands of children.  Glock cares about its customers and their safety. The company persuades its customers to use the proper safety techniques when handling firearms.
